27 April 2026, LocNet, in partnership with Relawan TIK, School of Community Networks (SCN) and the Rembuk Nusa coalition, officially kicked off the pilot phase of its Community-Centred Connectivity Initiatives (CCCI) online learning programme. Held via Zoom, the opening session brought together 21 participants from 9 SCN location.
The pilot introduces two foundational modules, Basic Networking and Basic Network Security, designed to equip community network practitioners across Indonesia with the technical skills needed to build and sustain their own connectivity solutions. The opening session featured Gustaff Harriman Iskandar (Common Room) and Akhmat Safrudin (Asia Regional Capacity Building Coordinator, LocNet), both emphasising the vital role of technical independence in building sustainable digital sovereignty at the grassroots level. Rizki from Relawan TIK led the first technical session, introducing participants to the fundamentals of network infrastructure, with strong engagement throughout.

The curriculum was developed in collaboration between Common Room and Relawan TIK, led by Muh NurFajar Muharom and supported by the LocNet Capacity Building team. It is delivered through the LocNet Moodle platform, which has been adapted for the Indonesian context and accompanied by a Bahasa Indonesia user guide. A structured CCCI learning pathway guides participants from foundational concepts to applied practice.
This pilot marks a significant step toward localising capacity building for community networks in the region. It reflects LocNet’s continued commitment to community-led, locally rooted approaches to closing the digital divide.***
