“My Neighbour Tanabata Song”
Composed by: Tomoko Momiya
Played and Improvised by the participant children

“My Neighbour Tanabata Song” was written for the children of Jendela Ide, by using instruments which they made from materials and sounds they had collected from the neigbourhood.

In Japan, people write their wish on tanzaku during the Festival, as a representation that someday the love star in the sky will make their wish come true when the time has come.

In “My Neighbour Tanabata Song” the childred express their wishes through music improvisation that they played, and at the end of the song will be played the original melody of Tanabata song from Japan, through the instrument made from bamboo.
